Succulents & Fishnets

IMG_0525IMG_0453Okay so this post is not as randy as the title makes it sound; with “adult” life taking over sometimes we forget to enjoy nature and our surroundings. My whole family pretty much inherited the green thumb and moving to the Central Coast of California has introduced me to the succulent. A plant that comes in many different varieties and requires very little maintenance; pretty much perfect plant for beach living. There is nothing I enjoy more after being at the doctors, or meetings, or shooting than sitting on my stoop, feeling the sea breeze and caring for my succulents. Truth be told this is not my private stoop, but my neighbor Nick is sweet enough to let me believe it is my private veranda. IMG_0426IMG_0420IMG_0484IMG_0531As we take our lives way to seriously, most of the time, our dressing can sometimes reflect that and that of our mood. To break any rut or cycle you may be going through, becoming more playful with your wardrobe can do more than one might think for the psyche. When we are in a transitional season where it may be too warm for pants but too cold for shorts, I highly suggest a fun pair of tights to up your look. They do not have to be as racy as a pair of nude fishnets, but even e simple, black, argyle pattern paired with shorts will add playfulness to any look. So tomorrow, rather than doing your normal lunch break thing, take yourself to the nearest department store and treat yourself to a fun pair of tights! This is retail therapy that won’t give you remorse after either, budget wise.
