There is not one decade I can think of where the denim jacket has not been considered “cool.” Each generation changing this basic piece by cutting the sleeves off, adding emoji patches, you name it, it’s probably been done to the denim jacket. I am generally pretty good at getting rid of things in my closet that I haven’t worn in awhile or just don’t fit the same, but my Earl Jean Jacket from High school is a different story. I swear if I touch it it whispers epic memories of feeling free and 16. The other day it occurred to me that just because I can’t really move in it or button it closed doesn’t mean I can’t wear it. Pairing it with a dress around the waist adds the perfect casual touch to a day look. I have a feeling we will start to see the trend more, wrapped around the waists of cocktail dresses to t-shirt dresses. I just love being able to recycle my pieces I covet back into my wardrobe.
