When I was little, Sundays were spent playing outside; swinging on the swings as a bird flying free, making mud pies in my Persian cafe, basically playing pretend and dreaming of all the things I would be when I grew up.
Life was not as free as the fantasies I had as a child. Teenage heartbreaks, working my ass off whether it was steaming outfits backstage or hanging off ladders to create visual displays, the loss of my Mom, you know, grown up life…
However, I was always blessed with this drive and love for fashion, design and branding; so no matter how many times I’ve fallen or life has pushed me, I’ve always managed to come back to my passions to keep me going.
This post was intended on focusing on the mix and match of textures but as I write I realize that playing with my clothes is one of the many things that brings out that free spirited child in me. Peering out the window in the mornings, trying to figure out what ensemble the weather will permit. Running my fingers through my closet and deciding who I want to be today; Dark and mysterious, flirty and feminine, or today’s outfit, cozy and unexpected. We all need the child in us to stay alive, go through your closets today and play. After all, we make the rules as to who we want to be!

So, I should start by saying I can not take all the credit for all the work that has been done to Helga since she was acquired several months ago. But, there have been quite a few weekends spent fixing some of the cosmetic details Helga’s previous owners sadly neglected.
It seems a week doesn’t even pass before I see a vintage Mercedes on my Instagram feed. Cars and fashion are no longer limited to editorials in Vogue, Bazaar, and some of my other favorite fashion magazines. What used to be an obvious blend of luxury products has now taken to the social media streets; small brands, big brands, and bloggers alike seem to be leaning towards the synergy of vintage cars and fashion to tell their visual story. Not to leave out the super cars I so eagerly wait to see during Concours; let’s be honest, I love the feeling of speed. And while it’s safe to say we will still see our favorite front row it girls chauffeured around during fashion week in a new Bentley, Mercedes, or BMW, it appears as though fashions “it” car this season is non other than a vintage Benz.
This post comes eagerly awaiting our photo shoot for our Men’s Colletion we are launching, Pacific G. Pacific Gypsea has been blessed by the car gods and will be shooting with one of the best car collections around. Get ready for my Instagram feed to be endless photos of my dream fleet list this Saturday.
I just got home from a wonderful event put on by the Dress For Success chapter of Carmel. On a perfect California day, guests sipped on chilled wine and ice tea during a cocktail hour before entering the silent auction held at Spanish Bay in Pebble Beach. From some of California’s best wines to original paintings by local artists, it was impossible to put my pen down for the silent auction. The bell rang in what felt like seconds as it was time to take our seats for a fashion show with ensembles from local boutiques. The energy was exciting and the music booming; I am pretty sure the men actually had more fun strutting down the runway than some of the ladies, but it was all in good fun for a wonderful cause. Now back to work to prepare for our Pop Up Shop this Saturday, a Creative Directors work is never done.
